This is minor driver update for 2nd Generation Intel Core processors with Intel HD Graphics.
This driver includes the game performance improvements added to our previous major driver update which showed up to 37% FPS gain on ULV platforms and select shipping games when compared to earlier driver (15.22.50.64.2509 compared to 15.22.1.2361). 2nd Generation Intel Core processors continue to offer the best mainstream gaming experience with popular titles released in 2011 playable out of the box.

Intel has published some days ago a new version of its graphics driver for HD Graphics 2000/3000 GPUs (2nd generation Intel Core i3 processor, 2nd generation Intel Core i5 processor, 2nd generation Intel Core i5 vPro processor, 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processor, and 2nd generation Intel Core i7 vPro™ processor). The graphics driver (v8.15.10.2656 for the 3D module) fixes several game-related bugs and adds new OpenGL extensions. More information about this driver in the release notes.

Intel has published a non-password-protected version of the v2712 HD Graphics drivers. This graphics driver supports the GPU of Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge processors.

You can download the 32 and 64-bit versions for Windows 7 from this page.

The version 2712 is an OpenGL 3.3 (build 8.15.10.2712) driver and exposes 132 OpenGL extensions (GL=118 and WGL=14) like the v2696.

I just tested the latest HD Graphics driver v2729 with my Ivy Bridge GPU and guess what, GPU Caps Viewer tells me that Intel has (silently?) added the support of OpenGL 4! Yes my friends, we can now run OpenGL 4 apps (with tessellation!!!) on Intel GPUs. Yeah! The funny thing is that there’s no mention of the OpenGL 4 support in the release notes. OpenGL 4 in the HD Graphics driver is not a big stuff for Intel, just a quick update… ;)

You can download the HD Graphics driver v2927 (15.28.0.64.2729 (9.17.10.2729)) from this page. This driver is intended for Windows 8 but the package contains also the Win7 64-bit driver.

Intel has released few says ago a new beta version of the HD graphics driver for HD Graphics 2000/3000 (Sandy Bridge) and HD Graphics 4000/2500 GPUs (Ivy Bridge). This driver provides full support for Windows Display Driver Model version 1.2 (WDDM v1.2) features including native stereoscopic 3D support, optimized screen rotation detection and integrated DirectX 11 video playback and adds several bug fixes and improvements for video encode and transcode usages.
